Whistler Health Care Centre provides the
following services:
- Complete care for
ailments ranging from coughs to traumas
- Patients will be seen in
order of urgency
- Full x-ray facilities on
site, open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Laboratory services on
site, open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday
- Heliport on site for
helicopter transports for life threatening traumas to Vancouver
- Initial stabilization is
done on site.
- Urgent patients
requiring specialized treatment in Vancouver will be transported by road or air ambulance.
Whistler is a 9-1-1 community. If you
require emergency transportation to Whistler Health Care Centre, call 9-1-1
for AMBULANCE SERVICES. B.C. Ambulance Services will bill you directly for this
service.
Translation Services:
- Are available if requested
- Charges for this service vary depending on the
language service required
- Japanese Interpreter can be called upon
- French, German & Spanish are on staff
- AT&T Language line can be used
Wheelchair Rentals:
- Are not available at Whistler Health Care
Centre
- There are several places available in
Vancouver for wheelchair rentals
- Some of the hotels in Whistler do have
wheelchairs available for their guests
Oxygen:
- Limited quantities of Oxygen tanks (size E)
are available for rent in Whistler at Sabre Rentals Ltd., however you must provide your
own regulator. Their hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We
recommend you call ahead, at (604) 932- 5583.
- Arrangements can be made with Medigas in
Vancouver for rental of oxygen tank and regulator. They can be reached at (604) 527-0744.
Renal Dialisis:
- Available on a part-time basis at Squamish
General Hospital, Squamish BC. Squamish is located 60 km north of Vancouver and 60 km
south of Whistler.
- The program currently runs Monday, Wednesday
and Thursday 8:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
